ord ourd is the veteran frontman for such comtemporary a cappella outfits as Terrible Rat Fletcher and All the Beautiful Lunkheads (both projects dated to grade school and relied extensively on the vocal efforts of imaginary friends, with occasional but distinguished recitatifs from a stuffed Santa Claus). After high school, Gordon took to boozing, whoring, and banditry—primarily but not exclusively as the subjects of traditional ballads, chanties, and bawdy songs, which he has voraciously collected and very nearly committed to memory. In this connexion he served for four years as Bard-in-Residence at the Van Cortlandt Manor's annual "Tavern Days" celebration. His hiring by the Cheese Lords in January 2003 encouraged Gordon to take pen to manuscript paper and start composing for the first time since high school. The Lords have performed several of Gordon's pieces, including two contrapuntal and polyrhythmic Christmas tunes.
